$175. per hour? I think there must have been a little miscommunication or misunderstanding.

rockcrawler304 Love how you think putting in a clutch helps pay for our healthcare. Typical!

Sometimes I can understand the problems of interpretation between Canadian and American English...Eah!!

Sounds like SB is stepping up to help you out.
Weird though for you to have this many problems.
Threw a SB single disk in my truck a few months ago and it has been perfect. No rattles, easy shifting, holds a Crazy Larry tune like it was stock power.

You missed the point obviously!

Anyway, hope you get all this worked out and it sounds like you are.

FWIW,
After 40,000 miles my DD is still noisy, still grabby, still tows heavy and still the best clutch money can buy.
Thanks SB

I used a SB clutch in my 01 and had no problem. I now have a 06 in the shop to replace a SB clutch that lasted about 3 weeks. It was the improved single disc. It was recommended by the trans shop, however, it may have been a mistake to use a single disc after reading the SB website. They say to always use a double if regularly pulling 15k which, being a car hauler, I do. Still, three weeks? I guess with my luck it could have been defective.

When I bought mine I was warned upfront that it had a noisy rattle to it but I went with it anyway. Yeah its noisy, goes away once you are rolling though. Hasn't ever slipped but that maybe a bad thing in a way. Much too grabby for the towing I do. I pull a 13K toy hauler and when I roll off the line I get a fair bit jerking no matter how slow I roll out the clutch.

A good clutch probably for those who race but not too thrilled with it for towing. Id probably try something different next time thats more towing friendly. Still it was a better choice than putting a stock clutch back in.

As for the $175/hr shop rate, thats ridiculous. I'm a fleet mechanic here in Calgary Alberta and deal with a lot of different shops and dealers. Not even the dealers charge that much. Usually between $90-$130. CDN$ of course!

Clutch...squel

My clutch has started to squeal when putting it into gear and letting the pedal out. It doesn't do it all the time. I mainly notice it when the clutch is cold, and between 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Any ideas? Is it another characteristic of this clutch?
