Running the Cummins 5.9L on JET A-1 fuel?
#16
There has been a lot of research, and therefore there are a lot of data available on using 2 cycle oil to increase lubrication of dry fuels. The suggested values are one ounce of "snowmobile" 2 cycle oil per gallon of ultra low sulfur diesel fuel. That value is 1 part oil to 128 parts fuel, and should work very well for Jet A.
Look for a rating of "TC-W3" 2 cycle oil. That is evidence of certification of "low ash" burn. Rated for "Snowmobile" pretty much guarantees a pour point of at least -40 F, which, for where you live is probably a good thing.

I guess I can't complain about fuel prices here anymore! We are incredibly lucky that we do not have to pay that much for fuel! My Snap-on dealer was running jet fuel in his tool truck for the longest time. Don't really know long term affects though.
