Royal Purple 15-40

Hey how many guys running this stuff? Did a search on the forums here and doesn't seem like a whole lot? Some folks say the moly they use is bad for the motor?
Got some cheap dumped it in and truck runs great, just want to know what you guys think?

It's probably fine, but doesn't seem to produce very good uoa's (just what I have read and heard). The top dino brands and Amsoil AME 15W40 are probably better choices.

Never tried it being I can buy Amsoil cheaper. I've seen a few post about it and those who use it had no complaints.

I used it ( up to 25k/change) for a long time a few yrs ago and had great UOAs. The TBN stayed up better than anything else I tried previously but the Shaeffer 7000 I use now is at least as good and is cheaper. I stopped using RP 15 40 cuz it was getting a little hard to find but now it's in most of the discount parts store. I found a Shaeffer dealer close so I'll stick with that. Craig

TBN was always great, but the motor did not like it. The company (wont say names) that tested my oil says that generally the cummins does not care for the RP. I switched back to Rotella and Val. Pr. Blue and all is good!
