rough idle sometimes

I have a 07 5.9 and not every day but maybe once a week it will idle rough for the first start of the morning. I have had the oil changed I'm going to change the fuel filter tomorrow. Any Ideas what it could be.

I hate to admit it, but a few of us (local boys) have noticed a rough idle, every once in a while. I have not had it bad enough to consider chasing.

My 07 5.9 has done it as well. Usually after a long pull just as you are getting off the off ramp. Only time it did it in the AM was because my #5 injector failed...

it's kinda werd Sometimes if I don't use the truck for a few day it will do it. Then sometimes it will do it when it like 55 out in the morning just to hot to turn the grid heater on. I changed the fuel filter today put a 1qt of 2stroke oil in the tank. Then I filled the fuel filter houseing with power service then put the new filter on and started it. so far so good

rough idle....

my old 06 did the rough idle deal after a long(20-25 mile) pull up hill empty, and seemed to idle low enough that it almost died. My new 07 seems to also have a similar issue happening with it also. Is there something I need to be looking for????? BTW, no check engine light came on, on either truck.....

My 05 does that, but it seems only when I drive around trying to save fuel. If I punch it, I get a big cloud of black which gets less over a couple of times, then it runs smooth. Not sure if it is helping, but it feels good

Hate to say it but I am starting to believe it is the nature of these beasts.

Make sure you go back dead empty. It's sad when a dealer thinks they need to bribe you to fill out a survey. I always ask my dealer to send me the survey because they take good care of me as fast as possible.

i suddenly stopped getting the surveys in the mail, when things didn't go quite right with the new non-qualified techs doing warranty work on my truck. amazing how that happened, isn't it.

i don't know if mine is a 5 star anymore, but cost cutting measures are turning the service dept. into a joke. after having trouble with a basic warranty repair on my truck, the same under qualified, non-ASE tech was given a customer's Viper for some warranty motor work!
