Ok before you say check the cat..
Just had the fuel filter changed..next day noticed the smell only when stopped or slow speeds.
Any relation to the fuel filter??

Thanks for the quick response.
As for oil its valvoline. And never had a smell like this.
Going to check the battery...have had many many problems with them. On my 3rd set of batteries in 2yrs. Just had to get them cleaned up cause the connection was so full of battery acid build up the truck wouldn't start.
Just thought it was weird the day the fuel filter was changed the smell started.
Last 2 days blaming the kids for farting LOL

That's a lot of batteries in such a short timeframe. Might oughtta have your alternator/charging system looked at. Dont replace the truck (sig sounds like a sweet truck), find the culprit and replace that.

Since I bought it above numerous dealership rip offs ( another story ) I have had a lot of problems.
First 6 months I had about 8 rental vehicles. Fuel heater kept having issues, throwing engine lights constantly..that was changed 3 times too. Found out the comp was changed prior to delivery too.
This is my dream truck..yup girls dream of diesels too lol. I get frustrated with these issues..but bottom line I'd never get rid of it LOL I'd let it rot before I see someone else rolling around in it haha

Ottawa Reg chrysler batteries I'm assuming.
One of the many dealer screwups was ordering a truck with a dvd player. Upon delivery wasn't there. Dealership had a private company install one. Recently along they replaced the dvd player they had installed because it was fried.
The dealer I get all work done ( not where I bought my truck) they figure there is a draw only thing could be the dvd player the original dealer installed.

You have a loose or dirty connection to the driver's side battery. The alternator is only connected to the passenger side battery which then charges the driver's side battery. When my truck boiled the passenger side battery, the positive battery cable was loose at the driver's side battery. Cleaned and tightened, no more problems.

FYI ,You will need to replace both batteries at the same time. As batteries age they charge/discharge differently. It probably not the main cause (connections, alternator, voltage regulator) about after resolving the issue you don't want the batteries fighting each other and causing new problems.

Its generally either a bad connection or over charging that kills the batteries.
Hope you find the problem.

Wow, what bad service out of a brand new truck, sorry. I looked at truck in your photos, I wouldn't want to get rid of it either. They don't call them electrical Gremlins for no reason, can be a very tough fix. Maybe Surfram in post 11 is onto something that will help you. I hope all of this has been on their dime and not yours. Mindy, your Mastiff reminded me of the best female dog I ever had. Little LuLu, our English Mastiff like yours. She lived to almost 12, which as you know is pretty good for a giant breed. I attribute it to fact she swam in our pond a lot. We now have a Cane Corso, the smallest Mastiff, but very athletic. Good luck, Let us know how it goes.

I had this happen on mine twice. I had to pay for it the first time, and then it was warrantied the second time. Got acid all over my inner fender, and all over my turbo and exhaust manifold. Dono what caused it, but it hasn't done it again
