Rotella Synthetic 5-40w
Ok guys wife went to Pep Boys to grab some of that Gojo hand cleaner...she calls it man soap...anyway while she was thier she called me and told me they had Rotella on sale...I told her grab 3 gallons....when she got home I found out she had bought the synthetic stuff...quite a bit more expensive I might add...anyway I'm not w/ the whole synthetic thing, but can I safely use it? Truck has been drove pretty hard and has 10.8K....

I ran one one cycle with rotella 5w40 synthetic and didn't like it at all. Plus, I could still smell that same Rotella smell. I changed back to valvoline, but this time I went with premium blue Extreme 5w40 synthetic. It was also $10 a gallon cheaper than Rotella.

I actually had to buy it from my local valvoline distributor. Apollo Oil. I think their website is www.apollooil.com. Advance autoparts website claims that they can get it, but the manager told me to call their distributor. If you can't find anyway to get any down in Texas, PM me and I can see what it would cost to get some shipped down to you.

I have been using Rotella 5w40 synthetic for a while now....and love it. Definately has better cold starts than 15w40.
Unfortunately......though.....Rotella Syn has now switched to that darn CJ Blend oil...
I have enough of the CI 4+ blend for 3 more oil changes...then I gotta make a decision. It may be VPB Classic or John Deere. Im staying away from CJ oil if at all possible.
