Do a search. I never said it was a common issue due to overrevving. It is however a common issue due to excessive EGT's.

Heres your post about (most common thing would of been to drop a valve seat) is this a quote from spooler? You never mentioned high EGT's I did, your getting your post's all mixed up.

The risk with over-revving an engine is that the valves get opening and closing so fast that the spring doesn't provide enough pressure to return the valve to it's seat. This is valve float. While the valve is off it's seat and just flying around in there, it's possible for the locks to slip out of place. This is a dropped valve, because without the locks the valve can just fall out into the piston chamber. Since there was no load on the engine at the time of over-revving, and it didn't drop a valve, I'd say you're fine too.
