I blow the Amsoil out every oil change and it seems to fit very snuggly in the box. Lots of dirt does come out of the filter when I blow it out, but I think that is the point of it. I probably won't buy another, too much hassle, would rather stick with a NAPA or Fleetguard. I have a modded airbox so it gets plenty of air. Scotty

Eating Crow!!!

Looks like I'm eating crow on the Amsoil drop in. When I had opened the lid before I saw no evidence of dust problems. However yesterday I had to take the intake tube off for my oil change and noticed a fine line of very fine dust at the bottom of the tube where it met up with the turbo inlet.

Luckily the turbo fins and the rest of the turbo appear to be fine. I cleaned them and found almost no traces of dust.

I immediately went to town and bought a stock filter. Turbo noise is down but thats ok.

We'll see what the oil analysis sample I'm about to send out will reveal.

I've run both the Amsoil drop-in and the AFE Pro-Dry Superstock air filters. The AFE passed a lot of dust and was thrown out. You could see where the dust was pulled right through the filter. I always put a small amount of silicon grease on the seal and nothing was getting pulled through there. The Amsoil is holding up great and I won't be getting rid of it unless I start to see dust getting through it or if my UOA show silicon rising.

With my AFE Pro-Dry I sure don't need any silicon grease. It fits good a tight. I haven't notice any dust getting past my filter. I"m very happy with my AFE
