Replcement air filter- Amsoil or AFE Pro-Dry?
Hello.
Amsoil drop- in (Eaa189 I think) or AFE Pro Dry (31-10102)
I've been looking at these 2 options for my 2007 5.9L.
I would appreciate opinions on both....The AFE appears to cost more, I assume because it is a "lifetime" filter....how long should the Amsoil last? Are both filters "dry" as in I would never have to oil them?
Thanks for your help!

I have the AFE Pro-Dry. It is leaking fine silica on the inside/top of the filter. It is on the top of the filter, where the lid secures. AFE sent me another one and said it was an improved version, however it was identical to the first.
Now their engineers want me to email pictures of the top lid to determine if my lid is cracked.
I am removing mine.
Good luck

I used the Amsoil drop in, and upon checking the intake tube, it had fine dust in it that had gotten through the filter. I went back to the Mopar factory filter, and have not had any problem since. Just my .02

My Amsoil doesn't have the snug fit of the stocker or my AFE Proguard 7 which is currently in there. The PG7 seems a little too thick in that I have to really push down on the stock box's lid to clamp it in. It seems to seal well though for that reason.

That's probably a good idea. My Amsoil filter is about 1/16" to small all the way around the perimeter. It doesn't fit snug as I'd like. No problems w/dust while I had it on though. The factory one fits like a glove as well as a NAPA one I have.

I'm using the AFE 31-10102 OE Replacement Filter with Pro-Dry S, I've got about 4,000 miles on it and I haven't notice any problems with mine. The AFE fits very tight in the air box. So far I'm happy with my AFE air filter

I had an Amsoil and it ddid not last as long as they said it would.
I have tried vacuuming anf blowing out dust, but it seems to be clogged with road grime. It would draw down my indicator 1/2-3/4 so I went with a OEM.
Amsoil credited me from what they say and want the old filter for testing.

I added an Amsoil and I agree that mine is almost done, and I try to clean it pretty often. It does fit tight in the airbox, I never noticed any dust getting by it.

Amsoil say EaA Filters remain effective for 25,000 miles or one year before requiring cleaning.
