replacing the moog ball joints
I have fought my steering issues long enough (6 months & 7500 miles) since replacing my upper and lower ball joints. The truck still wants to wander. I am going to try replacing just the lower one first to see if this corrects the problem. I am considering O.E. dodge or XRF joints. Has anyone had any bad experience with the XRF joints causing wander like the Moogs.

I have a set of XRF joints sitting on the bench and will put them in next month. If you put a set in let me know how they work for you.
I went to the dealer and checked out OEM s I wasn't impressed and they were more money.

I have played with tire pressure optimum pressure with the 325's is 55psi in the front and 50psi in the rear. My winter tires are 285's on stock rims and they work best with 50psi front and 45psi rear. this was determined by tire contact patch.
Shocks are o.e. soon to be changed after steering issues are resolved (one change at a time).

Plan on swapping out the ball joints the last week of January while on vacation. I'm leaning towards O.E. joints.
Does anyone know the Miller tool part number for the ball joint press kit?

Did you rotate your tires afterward? I just put a set of Moog upper and lowers on my wife's '03 and it was all over the road...dangerous to say the least. I rotated the tires and all is fixed. I guess they had worn to the camber (or whatever it is) of the old BJ and weren't making good contact with the road.

www.thecarlisuspension.com. There's an article where Sage dissects Moogs. Not pretty.

I had a set of Moog joints installed and hated them. Truck wandered all over the place from day one of install to about 5K miles when I had them replaced with the XRF units. Drives like a new truck now. The Moogs were the problem all along even after multiple trips to the alignment shop and two sets of new tires. I will not use Moogs on my rides ever again.
