Replacement cost of fuel lift pump?

Does anyone know the cost from dealer for replacement lift pump? I'm leaning toward a FASS or AirDog but just curious about dealer price of OEM parts.

I called a dealer in Brewton, Al. a few weeks ago about the price and they quoted me $235.00. That's not including tax.

carri56: Are you replacing it just to be safe or has it gone out on you. Im still running my original.
Also, dont forget our sponser. They had the best deal in town on LP's awhile back.

Carri,

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge on the truck? Whats it reading?

Speaking from personal experience I had the stock pump fail on me hauling a three horse trailer down to TN. Local Dodge in TN replaceed the lift pump with another in tank one, only to have that one go out on me 15k miles later in WI hauling the same trailer in 15 degree snow storm...after the tow bill to the local dodge and the tow bill to my buddies, its worth your time to look into an aftermarket system such as AirDog, FASS, Glacier, etc.

Extremely pleased with my Airdog 150 and it was worth the time to get it installed. Talk to Larry and see what the DTR store can do for you.

I don't have a fuel pressure gauge, i do have outlook monitor though,I think it shows rail pressure, however from what I've read I need to know the pressure at lift pump. Is that correct? What is involved in installing a fuel pressure guage? Did you have any advance warning before it went out?

Mine cost me around $900.00 installed. They did do as a rush job, as I was in a bind.

I also want to know. Also, carri56: How many miles do you have on your rig?

I would guess that was for the in tank pump installed by the dealer. Mine were covered under warranty, so I am not sure what the price would have been. But the towing bill alone with having the horse trailer was more than enough to convince me to get it changed out. Problem was the "ain't broke, don't fix it" rule bit me when it went out that second time in WI.

I'm pretty sure the AirDog 150's are on sale through the DTR store for $499.
