You'd think....but as hard as I've looked I've yet to find an excuse to pull a trailer....or a trailer for that matter. My dad has a 16' flatbed or an 18' bass boat....and my granddad has a four horse trailer...but I want something with some weight to it. ;D

Re:Removing the Silencer Ring
Have you guys tried putting in a K&N filter. I noticed a big difference in my 12v. Or even a new Scotty air system. And the K&N won't void your warrenty. just a thought. -Anthony

Actually I believe some dealerships will void your warranty for using a K&N...so I'm told. [undecided]

Re:Removing the Silencer Ring
Then maybe inform the dealership that voiding your warranty because of using a non-oem is illegal. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act makes it illegal for a manufacturer to void a new vehicle warranty if the consumer uses non-oem filters unless that manufacturer provides filters free of charge.
I have not seen my Dodge dealership giving any air filters free of charge. -Anthony

Re:Removing the Silencer Ring
Something about the manual stating the filters must meet certain criteria and the K&N doesn't meet that criteria. That's the basis on which they were voiding warranties. I don't know of anyone this has happened too...just rumors of it happening. I had a K&N on my last truck...the Ford gasser...and nobody ever said a word about it. Of course it was never once back in the dealership for any work either....
Actually though...I believe it states that they can't cancel a warranty unless they can prove that the non-OEM product is the source of whatever the problem is.

If you click on the paperclip at the bottom, it opens the picture.

Re:Removing the Silencer Ring
hey Hoss what is the certain criteria that the filter must meet. Just wondering. I had never heard of it. That's all.

While were on the topic of voiding warranties. I wonder if it voids the warranty by removing the silencer ring even though it does no harm. But I doubt most of the DC tech. even know about it.

-Anthony

As I recall though the owner's manual says that the air filter must meet certain specs. Check your manual. I don't know if they'd void your warranty with K&N or not....but if it doesn't meet the specs I suspect they COULD void your warranty IF they wanted to. Don't know though...haven't had any experience with that.

As far as the silencer ring...I suspect that if they wanted to give you a hard time about it then they could void the warranty on your turbo because technically you modified the turbo when you removed the ring. I haven't heard any cases of this happening...but I suppose it's possible.
