Removal of stock fuel filter housing

I am planning to remove the stock filter housing as I've completely bypassed it with my current setup. However, I want to have an idea of what I'm going to be getting into and what the correct procedures are. Does anyone have any input/direction on the proper way to do it with minimal hassle?

Thanks!

Bierk

I want to remove the stock filter housing on the side of the block because it is no longer in use. I live in FL so I don't care about the fuel heater, nor any other part of it. I have far superior filtration with the cat IR-750 and I have a separate 20 mic fuel/water separator before that cat filter. I consider the stock filter location to be less easily serviced than what I have now, as well as the filtration is nowhere near as good. I much prefer this setup and the stock housing is just in the way at this time but I want to make sure I take it off in the proper fashion.

Does your 20mic have a WIF sensor?

I have extra filters like you, but keep my stock canister.. its one more place for water/debris to be caught.. and it has the WIF sensor. Honestly you only have to get to it every 15-20K miles.

I left mine in to make a staged system. Progressively filter down and everything will last longer. Thats how big stuff does it. May not be an issue though.... just my opinion.
