Mine has a delay that can be set with the installers programmer.

it will if you install the correct ones. Usually it will say in the features sections "diesel features built in" or something to that effect. If you go get one of those $49.99 ones from walmart then probably not. It'll probably just fire it up like a gasser

You didn't buy a cheap truck so why would you buy a cheap starter. IMHO the mopar starters aren't great. They have limited range with limited capabilities. The only reason that they are around is that alot of techs don't want to attempt installing on a Dodge. It's rather tricky. BUT is possible without voiding warranty. My local dealership has asked me to do installs of aftermarket units on their new truck sales. They don't/can't do them. I would go with an Astrostart 2205 or 2305. Two-way unit for sure. If you're electronically inclined, you may be able to tackle this one yourself. If not, you better leave it to a trained tech. Actually on the '06, most of the wiring is done on the bench.

I have the Mopar remote. It plugs right into the harness. It delays the start for up to a minute to heat the grid.

Auto start

I live in AK, I have a Viper remote and it does well down to 40 below. It does not start (or attempt) until the grid warms up. I have a manual (****) fast idel which is uselss with the auto start. The system can be adjusted to re-attempt to start if it does not start the first time and can be programmed to start every few hours. Depending on where you live, the blue heat system is great but a little rought on the pocket book.

Remote Started 07 Diesel with CompuStar and shutting down

Hello, I have an 07 Ram Diesel and was wondering if you guys have ever experienced any issues where the truck sits overnight in the cold (for 10 hours plus) and you try to remote start it with the Compustar. Once the truck starts and runs for a few seconds, the truck shuts down and the Compustar starts it again? If so, did your installer change the Compustar from monitoring the Tach to Tachless (volt sensing) monitoring.

I'm thinking that he may have missed a resistor. My memory is poor but I know that they are required on other Dodge vehicles. I don't believe it has anything to do with the tach. The 06 and 07 are different installs. So what is cold weather?? -5, -10, -15.

Hey all, there is another thread in "No Drivetrain" about compustar remote starters. I posted something for guys with the starting issues to try, it worked on my '07 when I had the same issues. Also, BMH95 asked about being able to tun the high-idle on with the remote---my installer told me when I had mine put in that he could propably do it, but would need to add a module and do some research into it.
