regen question
so how do you know when its doing a regen and how often? i know how often depends on driving style (empty/towing, city/highway). but is there some kind of light in the gauges or just by looking at the fuel gauge going down.
i know on are fleet trucks at work (386 pete) they have passive, active and park regen modes. the truck has a switch on the dash for park regen. with 4 stages of warning lights for regen.

Dodge wanted the regens to be seamless to the owner/operator of the pick-up and C&C model trucks. With out a EGT gauge there is no way to be sure of a regen or when one is taking place.
When my truck was stock and I only had my gauges installed. I would see regens every 250 to 300 miles, on the highway. In town they could occur every 150 miles or so. More low speed driving and soot build up taking place in town.

There are two other subtle ways to tell when your in a regen mode.
1) The fuel mileage (displayed in the EVIC)) will be unusually low like 10-12 mpg
2) upon shutting down the truck the exhaust is so hot that it's making a "ticking" sound.
