Question regen

I am a real rookie when it comes to diesels and my questions will reflect that.

2004 Ram 3500 Quad Cab 4X4 with the 5.9 HO Cummins. Does the truck let me know when it goes into regen and will I notice anything performance-wise when it does?

Do certain mods affect the regen process, or is it pretty much just when the DPF gets to a certain point?

What exactly happens during a regen?

See...beginner questions.

Yours will never go into a regen because it does not have a DPF to burn off.

That started in 2007.5 with the 6.7.
