rear limited slip replacement

rear limited slip replacement
My truck had some major slop in the rear end which i thought was a carrier bearing again, but it turned out to be the stock limited slip. About 2000 miles ago one of the carrier bearings in my rear diff went out when we were on vacation in North Carolina. I had the Diff rebuilt and thought all was well. With the slop returning, i took it to a local shop that specializes in drive line repair. It looks like the rear was set up good, but to much preload on all the bearings. also, some metal pieces may have gotten into the limited slip, causing it to fail.
So my question, i have to replace the limited slip, and wonder what are my options. the limited slip seemed to work pretty good, but it was hard to tell since i dont really wheel my truck at all.

I'm not sure when the change over was, but Dodge at one time used a clutch type LSD, and then switched to the worm gear.
The worm gears are pretty strong, and don't wear out like the clutch type do.
SInce you don't read about many failures, I wouldn';t be afraid to use a stock Dodge diff. If not Dodge, then I'd use an Eaton TruTrack - Not a locker, though.
