I have to disagree with that comment, if this was a Ford problem first Ford would tell you that it was normal and after several longs months of living in denial they would make a feeble effort of repairing the problem and then they would have several reflashes each one making your truck run worse than before and then when the buybacks started exceeding 500 a month they would finally come up with a reflash that removes your pilot injection and with it the main reason you liked the 6.0 in the first place (quiet)----ETC--ETC

most trucks with problems were the first ones built. I ordered my truck not even knowing about 325hp. moter. Found out about 4 weeks after placing order. Most others with problem took delivery about same time as I did. My dealership just got in a shipment a few days ago . My salesman has a demo out of this batch that is ok.

If the reflash did not work, there is something else wrong. Can you elaborate on the specific throttle positions (light load, med, WOT), what engine rpm, operating conditions (amibient temp, coolant temp), color and quantity of smoke (blue/grey, black, white, lots, little, only when it hesitates)?
Yes, the re-flash made it to the engine plant (engines are flashed at CMEP in Indiana) much faster than it made it to the dealer.

Mine was built 1/08/04 I don't really have the problem. The only problem I was having was a surging/bucking at cruise 2400-2600 RPM. That's gone away over time. I now have 1600 miles on my truck. I attributed mine to bad fuel since it's now gone completely.-Shawn

(TO BIGBLOCK2STROCK) Day time temps. 30-50. occurs at normal operating temp. Rpm range(post flash) 1600-1700,2200-2400rpms. White/blue smoke only when miss, amount depends on how hard accelerating, low accel.-none visible, moderate accel.-enough to notice in mirrow. Usually only missing at low accel.-moderate...........Back to dealer today, in rental truck, cummins tech. comming Sat. to scratch his head with the rest of them.

Was told today that Cummins tech. would not be looking at my truck. Instead, he will be looking at one closer to his location. Discovered new problem yesterday on the way to dealership. I started my truck, cold motor (low forties), preheat cycle only stayed on for about two seconds. Drove 40 miles, shut off engine, restarted shortly thereafter. With hot motor preheat cycle stayed on about 45 seconds. I believe there could be a temperature sensor defective or malfunctioning. This sensor could also be causing the ECM to be getting incorrect data. Thus causing the timing, fuel/air mixture to be incorrect, leading to misfire and excessive valve chatter. Keep in mind that I am just a dumb truck driver that drives a cut back, castrated Peterbilt for a living . Dealer service said they are not going to anything to truck until Dodge has fix. Truck is in for 4th. service call now and they have given me a rental. This means they are keeping the truck until they have fix, thus keeping me lemon lawing it.
