Raptor fuel pump noise

I have a raptor fuel pump on a 03 and a 04.5. I put both of them on about 2 years ago. The pump on the 03 has become much louder than it used to be. I have also confirmed this by comparing it to the one in the 04.5. It makes a grrrrrr sound. Any ideas?

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge installed?

I am sure someone will chime in to inform you that the Raptor pumps are junk. They certainly are not as reliable as they once were.

I don't have a fuel pressure gauge. This truck also will not start unless the block heater is plugged in. Could it be related to the fuel pump?

That is a typical indicator that you have weak or failing injector(s).

Are you showing any codes using the key on/off method? You could also try to re torque the connector tubes to the proper torque value.

The truck is not showing any codes. What tool is used to torque the fuel lines? Looks like a open end wrench is required and a tight fit on some of them.

Many people use a crows foot wrench.
