Raptor 150 losing prime

Do not know how to describe it but once in a while when I go to start it.
It fires right up then dies and will continue to do this. The answer has turned out to open the factory fuel drain and turn on the ignition let fuel purge then close off the drain and it fires right up and keeps running.
Fuel filter is clean as the first couple times it happened I thought plugged filter well the 2nd time I did it was a Baldwin and only 1,500 miles on it and it was clean but it fired back up so the last time I only opened the drain flushed it and fired right up.
So any thoughts appreciated.

Are you using a draw straw? most likely pickup in tank plugged or restricted.
