I'm a fan of the second gen engine noise. My 05 is a little too quiet for me, can I do anything to make it louder?

 

A exhaust will help but, these new engines has a common rail which makes the engine alot quieter.

 

drive it a little more, as they break in they get a lil noise to 'em........ then each time ya bomb it tends to get a lil louder too...............

 

Get a second gen.






I tick people off just about daily with my clackity clack.

Forget a bank drive through, or someone approaching the truck for directions.

You could also stick some marbles in the engine to give it the extra rattleing noise.

 

Tone ring mod gave mine a little more rattle.

 

I recently added an AFE Stage 2 Air Intake and a straight thru design 4'' Magnaflow muffler. It made a huge difference in the way it sounds. I love it. I can hear the turbo spooling just backing out of my driveway.

I am not going to say it is as loud or good sounding as a 2nd gen, but it has it's own pretty awesome sound. One I am growing to love every day and every bridge underpass...LOL.
