Quick Clutch question
So my clutch is going out, truck is in the shop and want to do something better that OEM, want a Southbend but leaning towards a Valair due to money. My big question is whether to go with a dual mass flywheel or a solid flywheel?

I have no personal experience but I do know I will be going to the solid flywheel when I need to do a new clutch. I have read a lot about them and they seem to be a good upgrade. They do create a bit of noise but only right off idle.

I just upgraded my clutch to a Valair and I am happy with it. I went with the solid flywheel and the truck is much smoother now (dual mass was toasted).. I don't have any extra noise off of idle...

Get rid of the DM flywheel, I'd recommend the SB OFE but call Peter (at SB), tell him what you use the truck for, what your plans are, he'll tell you which way to go.
Also check out the DTR store for great prices.

My OFE has worjked great for about 15k mi now. Not much more pedal pressure than stock, not much grabbier, but holds a Crazy Larry tune in 6th gear no problem.
