Self-installed eBrake - Worth the effort
Hi,
I did the installation myself, except for needing a little help to tug the exhaust manifold out of the way to bolt up the brake to the turbo. Other than that and a small mistake in the instructions dealing with the wiring of the indicator light, it was very straightforward.
The warranty on the eBrake is from Cummins, if you buy it from them, but it specifically is approved by Dodge and Cummins, so your motor warranty is unaffected. I thought the eBrake itself was warrantied for 3 years, unlimited mileage.
The vacuum pump could be an issue over the years, but several people have found them for less than $50, and two people I talked to had over 150K on theirs with no problems. One other thing, the vacuum pump mounts very near the CP3, so if you have a fuel pressure sensor there, you may have to move it to the filter housing.
The eBrake should be part of every heavy duty rig, towing or not.

I had the dealer to install the Jake e-brake when I bought the truck. No problems so far and the truck now has 40K miles. I pull a 5th-wheel camper that weighs 13-14K pounds so the total combined weight is about 22K pounds. The e-brake makes driving in the mountains a piece of cake. As long as I am pulling this kind of weight, I will have an e-brake.
