Questions about Toyo open country A/T tires
I am sure everybody has read my post about the problems i am having with my cooper ATR tires. So i was thinking about trying to trade my coopers in for some toyo tires. I found some Toyo open country A/T tires. they are 285/70/17 LT load range E tires. so my question is to anybody that are running the toyo tires. I would like to hear your likes or dislikes about them. Who are they wearing etc. thanks Guys Mopar72

I have read one of your threads about the tires. I don't personally have any experience with the Cooper tires but I do know that there are better shoes out there(in my opinion).
I will keeping buying Toyo's until my truck is traded/sold. Then I will buy another set for my new ride.
I have the 35" M/T's and I swear by them. They ride great, balance out great, they are not very loud on the highway, traction is great. I have a little over 35k on my current tires and they are getting to the point where I need a new set, I may be able to get 5-7k more miles out of them. And beleive me, my tires haven't had an easy life.
They are a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. And im sure you realize that by now. The A/T's should last even longer then the M/T's, if properly balanced & rotated on schedule. And im sure they are even a little cheaper. Not as aggressive tread as the M/T but still good enough for everyday use on/off road. I may even go with a set of the A/T's my next go round, maybe.

Toyo fan.
I'm sold on Toyo's after using many other brands including Bridgestone and BFG. As aforementioned they balance out with very little weight and run vibration-free. If you go with 285 AT's,there is a 285-75-17 out now which is 1" taller. It's spec'd out in the Toyo Canada website along w/stock number. nominal price difference. No clearance problems.

now that's funny! i'm looking at the m/t's (probably because that's what i run). does toyo make a 285/75/17 in an a/t? i know it's a new size and strange that they bothered to come out with a size that's so close to others they already have.

Ok guys you have talked me into the toyo tires. I am going to talk to the place i got the cooper from tomorrow and see what i can do about trading. I just looked on the toyo web site and did not see the 285/75/17 tires listed. but i was looking at the At tires. i really do not need the M/T tires. I do not take my truck four wheeling or anything like that.I just want a tire that will last a while, get good traction in snow or light mud and one that will hold up to towing once in a while. allso what would be the advantage to running the 285/70/17 compared to the 285/75/17 tire? thanks Bobby
