Question about the Vibe

For those of you that have had to deal with the infamous vibe can you give me a good description of what's happening. Noise, vibration, where you feel it and so on I would like to compare it to what I have in my truck above the 2k mark. Thanks Shaky

I just got back from having the dealer check mine out. The vibe in question comes in @ around 65 mph and goes away around 75. I Took the service manager for a ride and he had me run it up to 75 and then coast down in neutral. If you can still feel the vibe with the driveline 'unloaded', you have a problem. I indeed had a problem, and he promptly ordered me a new driveshaft which he will install tomorrow. He also ordered both new door seals for me (even though only 1 is bad).
So far, I am very impressed with Chapman Dodge!

I know with all the complaints on here about this vibe someone could describe it.
Where are you at MSATOW?

What is the vibe YOU are feeling? Describe it for us, and maybe we can tell you what it is. Mine felt like driving on worn down rumble strips and was accompanied by a pulsating drone in the 65 to 70 range. Do a search, you'll find all manner of descriptions to confuse you further.

It's not bad enough to shake the truck. The rear view mirror doesn't vibrate. There is no visible vibration. I hear it. Not bad just as soon as I hit 70 mph this droning noise (very audible) comes into play. It does not subside at any speed above 70. Annoying on a 1200 mile trip.

Try the 'coast down' method I posted. This will eliminate engine and exhaust harmonics from the equation. Sounds like driveline to me. Maybe mine is more pronounced beause it came on all of a sudden, and didn't exist before 5K miles Print a few threads and take them with you to the dealer, in case he tries to play dumb. The first service writer i talked to tried to convince me that it was freeway expansion joints.

I have had a new driveshaft installed with the same results no change. And new door seals also. The question was what does the vibe feel like. I just wanted to compare mine with what others feel to see if it is the same or more engine/exhaust related. The dealer confirmed that is something there just unsure what it is.
