Question about '05 tow/haul button
I've read what people are saying about the changes in the functionality of the '05 vs <'04 Tow/Haul button, in that it now changes the whole programming of the transmission and the '05 will allow shifting into O/D while Tow mode is engaged. I was wondering if this means there is now no way to lock out O/D? I ordered 3.73 gears for the mileage empty, figuring that when I'm towing my 10K trailer over the mountains, I can just use 3rd locked to get the RPM's up when I need to. Is the new programming smart enough to leave it in 3rd locked while climbing a hill with a load, or am I going to have problems with it always wanting to shift into O/D while I'm in the mountains? I'm all for better programming, but I still think it would be nice to be able to lock out O/D!

Im glad you asked this question, because I have been messing with the Tow/Haul button on my truck and i can see no diff, RPM's are the same at highway speeds, and I do miss the grade braking that the Torqueshift and Allison equiped trucks I had before had. I dont miss the trucks, just the grade braking function. Does anyone know how it is suppose to act when in Tow/Haul mode?
