Quality, better-flowing drop-in air filter replacement?

Does one exist? I don't want a cold air intake (too much noise) and I'm way to lazy to make a BHAF, so is there something out there that just drops in the stock box that flows more air? No "make one yourself" replies...don't forget I'm really lazy...thanks!

Do a search on NAPA gold. Claims to have 25% more CFMs or something like that, but still meets specs. Just bought one this afternoon for $30.

I've been very happy with the Amsoil Ea.

Amsoil makes a "dry type" filter which is supposed to be a stock replacement. It is made for them by Donaldson. It is made of the new filter media Donaldson uses in gas turbine filters. Supposed to flow better than stock, and just blow it out every once in a while.

Haven't got around to ordering one yet... Guess I am a bit lazy also.

I will be replacing the stock filter with the new Amsoil Ea filter pretty soon.

I'm having good luck with my drop in True-flow air filter, but it is an oiled filter which kinda sucks

Another vote for Amsoil Ea189. Nanofiber technology. My stock filter would pull way down, not so with the dry nanofiber Amsoil.

I still have my stock air box in the attic with the AFE PG7 filter in it. I never had any dirt get past it on this truck or the 01 I had.

I run the amsoil Ea189 drop in as well, and after 2 months of driving, the cool hose is as clean as it was when it was installed. The outside of the box is really dusty from a couple of weeks at the track, so to be sure nothing was getting past the filter, I wiped the inlet with a white t-shirt, and there was nothing there. I am very happy with it, and you don't have to do anything with it, other than to blow it out.

I'm also using the Amsoil Ea189 drop-in filter. I have been using it now for 10K. The inside of my Cool Hose is clean, passes the white glove test. I just blow it out regularly. I live on a dirt road that is unbelievably dusty., filter is more than doing it's job. I noticed a little more go-power, can now just barely hear the turbo.

Get a filter for a 2007 6.7 engine. It is about 6" deep instead of about 2 for the stock 5.9. It will fit in the box but is a tight fit on the sides. I have not checked on replacing the bottom half of the airbox with the 6.7 box.

Get a K&N Replacement filter...that thing is huge...looks completly different then the stock filter. Should get almost the same airflow as with a cold air intake minus the tubing. Cost 70 bucks tho.

Napa Gold 2846 made by Wix. It flows 675cfm according to Wix. They are $30at a Napa store and $13.07 from fleetfilter.com. I have run one of these filters for over 20,000 without the filterminder moving.
