Pyro Readings correct???

Sorry if this has been answered before, but the search function only turned up a bunch of 1rst and 2nd gen answers for this. I'm wondering what a normal idle temp (pre-turbo) should be around for a truck similar to mine. I'm showing like 160-170 at idle. I think it sounds too low as the 1rst and 2nd geners were saying 300 was normal for them. It seems to be accurate for cruising and when I'm hot roddin it around, I've gotten it up to the 1250 defuel limit I have my Bullydog set at. It seems to range from 600-850 for hwy cruising, is that normal? BTW I have my powerpup set at the performance level and the outlook is left at 100% all the time. Thanks!

I have never looked at my gauge during startup so don't know about the idle 160-170. The highway temperature sounds right @70 MPH I am just around 600* on level road & empty . Some hills temperature will get around 800. My definition of hills may be different from yours, I'm a flatlander. My truck is stock other than what is in my signature.

Mine sits at 350 on start up. Those numbers sound low.

well I don't know then, my idle says way too low, but everything else seems to be the same as others. How far into the manifold are your pyro probes going? Like almost touching the other side? Or just sticking in a little bit? Or halfway?

Mine usually idles just below 300 but I've never really paid much attention to what it idles at right after startup, probly the same though. Halfway would be the best place to have it

This is quite subjective as to ambient air. My 95 12V first in the morning 40* garage 10 - 20* outside is about 150 - 175 at first start up. When I go to idle within 60 seconds of leaving garage it will go back to 150 - 175*. Normal. Truck is cold. After running a few minutes at idle, outside air 10 - 20* temp is 250 - 300 while braking to a stop. To save on fuel I usually try to run at or around 600* or less. HWY flat (over passes and such) I-15 60 - 70 MPH 650 - 800*.

Mine is pre - turbo. No power added yet.
