push button 4x4

I've had 3 trucks with the electronic 4X4 with no problems. I have had no problems, and heard of no real big problems. I'd never go back to the lever. It's so convenient to shift at higher speeds, etc. I know the little shifter looks cool, and some may have had an electronics problem. Electronic shift has been around a long time now, and I don't think there are any more or less problems than with the manual shifter. (My $.02!)

Never heard of any problems with a dodge, but I've seen enough with other makes (admittedly older models) that I still prefer a lever. Don't think it'd be a deal buster for most folks though.

I've had both. I say go for it. While I prefer the lever; there is no problem with the electric. In fact, all the new ones are electric only...... The only reason I prefer the manual is it is faster than the electric; not a big deal at all.

I belive the transfer cases are different, due to the electric actuator. Could be wrong though.
I wouldn't worry about the electric at all, had 3 trucks with them with over 100k and no worries.

Essentially it's the same transfer case but with electric motors doing the work for you. I love mine and wouldn't go back. Getting out of 4 lo was always a pain with the manual case.
