If you have access to a scanner that can read OBDII codes thats one way or you can put your key in the ignition turn it to the start postion but don't start the truck, then back to the off position, do this 3 times in a row. On the 3rd time leave the key in the on position and your odometer should display the codes...

Another set of codes that you can pull is.

With key in OFF position, press and hold the Tripometer and then turn the key to the ON position (don't start it). Gauges should start taking off and it will eventually come back and list out codes (if you have any).

Only problem with these set of codes is that I have NEVER seen any place they are listed.

I have always had a 0d code and now getting a 66 code.

They should look something like this: 0d 40

The 2nd number is how many times the truck has been started with this code (I think).

It is the 1st number that is the actual code.

This Instrument Cluster code list was posted a while back on another forum. I think it was from 2003 Ram, but not sure. I just cut and pasted it into a file when I saw it. I don't know how accurate it is, but the source was a dealer service department employee I believe.

THANK YOU. I have never seen these codes and they are different then the 'P' codes for the engine.

Time to check out what mine are actually and see what it says. With 26,000 miles on the truck, it hasn't been back to the dealer yet other then turning on the High Idle and Pinion ratio change due to 315's. Would hate to break that record since it is running so good. They might look at it and make some change and then truck might not run correctly...

The P codes or ECM trouble codes are done with the key off to on three times without starting. The trouble codes will display one at a time on the OD display followed by "done".

To run the Instrument Cluster diagnostics make sure OD display is on mileage, not trip. With key off hold down trip/od button and turn key to on. Wait until the dash cluster goes nuts. Any Instrument Cluster error codes will display on the OD display in the same manner. There will be two numbers displayed, example 03 04. First number is the Instrument Cluster error code, the second number is, I THINK, the number of starts with the error set.

Thanks for the advice. I pulled the code and it came up PO 148. The CD I have with the FSM on it does not list that code. Does anyone know what it is?

I have an Xzillaraider XZT on my 04.5 and on a trip to the LA area the check engine light came on and the truck started to run a bit rough. When I stepped down on it to pass a big rig it started, running very rough and I got a timing hammer on the top end. I pulled over and disconnected the box and it ran great. I e-mailed Xzillaraider and they called me and had me trouble shoot it and said to put some di-electric grease on the connections which I did. It seems to be running fine now but I just wanted to see if it had set any codes.

Based on the link listed earlier, PO148 is fuel delivery error.
