Programming Computer

Has anyone been able to change computer programming on a SO? other than boosting power with a fuel box? Has anyone been able to upgrade SO power to HO via computer? I like my low mileage loaded early 03' SO but will get destroyed trading it in for a HO. Any thoughts? The SO is virtually the same motor as a HO aside from pcm calibration, and oil cooled pistons, it should not be a hard fix.

Nope the HO is quite different from the SO.....

- New ECM calibration and fueling algorithms.
- Increased fuel flow - different Injector pump
- Different Injectors - higher flow
- Turbo: Revised wastegate setting for 26psi at the turbocharger outlet
- Head: Valve seat inserts for added durability
- Different pistons with higher 17:1 compression ratio
- Different flywheel with 330 mm diameter clutch (vs. std. 310 mm).

You MUST increase fuel to increase performance - this means fuel box and/or injectors. Some computer programming is NOT going to give you what you are looking for. The good news for you is that a SO will respond more dramatically to a major fuel box.

Re:Programming Computer

Has anyone boosted power on a SO with good results? If a member has turned up the hp on their SO up please feel free to add to this TY Why lose $10k when I can boost what I have, the truck is loaded, and I'm not to crazy about getting burned on a trade. I have a lot invested in it already. Thanks DC for the F-ing you gave me by 2 months..... >

Re:Programming Computer

Take 5 minutes and plug in an Edge EZ. You won't be disappointed!! Just be prepared, once you start you can't stop! First it's the box, then you need an exhaust, then you will have to have some sort of better air intake, then you will want some guages, then you will want... :... :..............

You get the picture..

I waited a whole 4 months on this truck. I said I wasn't doing anything to it because it has more power than my 98 CTD did with the EZ box. First I removed the silencer ring. That got me going. Then I got the Magnaflow muffler and at the same time I removed the sound baffles from the air intake. Man it sounded good but I knew there was a lot of power sitting on a shelf at Edge products with my name on it. I waited about two weeks and ordered the box. And let me tell you, these trucks fly with one of these fueling boxes on it! I just doesn't end. Now I want some bigger tires.
Prepare yourself.......
