pre-lube to cool down?
I just returned from Afghanistan and picked up my 2003 Quad cab, short bed, SLT with HO/6 speed. I've added 315 BFG's and anticipate leveling the front with replacement coils soon. I will add pyrometer and boost guages next. Here's a couple of questions.

1) Has anyone used an oil pre-lube pump to continue circulating the oil at shut down? It could be on a timer or rigged to the pyrometer somehow. Seems like an easy way to keep the oil flowing until the turbine temps are reduced.

2) I was crawling under the truck for the first time today and didn't see an engine oil cooler. Did I miss it? If not, have any of you added one?

#) Anyone done a 2 Low install on an '03 yet? Where is the vacuum line to tie into?

Re:pre-lube to cool down?
Commando welcome back to the USA!
Regarding your questions:
1) To take care of the turbo at shutdown you let it idle for a few moments to a few minutes, depending on how hard it had been driven and weather. If you have a pyro anything under 300F preturbo should be safe for shutdown.
IMO oil prelubers are a waste of $$ and solves a problem that doesn't exist, and is more likely to do more harm than good if you have an oil leak.
2) The Engine Oil Cooler is integral with the engine and is located just below the oil filter mount. The oil is cooled by the cooling system. Pretty good design and keeps the engine oil in the engine instead of routing it to a suspectible external oil cooler.
3) So far no one has come up with a 2-Lo. The American axle isn't engaged pneumatically so there's no vacuum system to tie into like the 2nd Gen Rams. This was discussed on some other threads if you want to do a search.
