power steering squeal

power steering squeal
Was on my way to work this morning and when I took the on-ramp to the highway I noticed a slight squeal from my steering. Checked the fluid and it was a bit low..........didnt know any better and toppped it off w/ Pyroil .....didnt realize was supposed to use ATF+4. Anywho, the squeal is still there. Any ideas as to what is? The box is not leaking at all that I can tell and its only a slight squeal when turning hard at speed (like an exit ramp or turning around in a parking lot).
Should I change out the fluid now with ATF+4? How do yall change it out anyways? The most I could get from doing a search is to use a turkey baster and suck it out. Im taking it to the dealer this weekend for some other things but dont want them keeping it longer just to fix a simple problem.
thanks yall

I had power steering problems at about 18,000 miles. The steering would not return without a lot of help after making a turn. The dealer replaced the steering box and the power steering pump. The steering seemed to be ok after making these repairs. However, now with about 23,000 miles I am beginning to hear some noise from the power steering pump. Even when the truck is not moving the pump makes a slight noise; turn the steering wheel slightly and the noise gets a little louder. The steering is full of fluid so that is not the problem. It is not uncommon for the pump to make a little noise when the steering is turned to the max, but I don't think it should make a noticeable noise when the steering wheel is not being turned or when just making a less than max turn. Based on other posts to this sight, DCM must be having some trouble with their steering systems on the heavy duty pickups. Guess I'll get mine checked out. I'll let you know what I find out.

Mines not giving me that much trouble, just some odd squealing once in awhile.........seems to have worked itself out today though.
I would still like to hear from those of you that have change yours out.........other than the turkey baster, what other ways are there to do it?
Thanks
