i have been playing with my sons truck. found an interesting problem. 7% grade one wheel in grass going forward it is next to useless. same spot backing it will smoke the tire on pavement while spinning in grass. why would it work in reverse only

Try applying a bit of brake. The limited slip is like the one on the Humvee. One gentleman said that he had bragging rights of pulling out National Guard Humvees that were stuck in snow, where he then showed them how to use the brake to engage the limited slip.

i have tried the brake. it worked in the 60s on an old mack truck. this truck will spin both wheels on dry pavement. but it is totally useless going forward any where else.
