PO 148 code
#16
as kingey and others stated the p0148 is a check sum error meaning the amount of fuel supplied did not match what was used. an example kingey used is the injector tube is a contact fit to the injector under 23,000 lbs pressure at times. a loose tube leaks fuel and gos back to the tank.the ecm sees the usage and trips the code. intermittent problems are the hardest to find and with several different things that trip p0148 it makes it harder. like he said it does not cost any thing to tighten the tubes. i still believe your trouble is to long between trips to be tubes i would next get the gauge to see exactly what happens when it faults

It`s fixed! ( I hope ) I replaced the rail senser & drove it about five miles. The light hasn`t come back on. Tomorrow it will get the real test, miles & miles at work. If it`s fixed I can`t believe I`ve driven with the light on this long. Carl48, thank`s for setting me straight on the fca. The fca looks just like what we use to call the shutoff solenoid. How does it control pressure? Thank`s to everyone for all the help.

Since there is always fuel returning from the rail the CP-3 never quits pressurizing, but, controlling the amount fo fuel it has to pressurize is how rail pressure is managed.

After that last post I jumped in my truck & the light hasn`t been back on all day. I`m going to borrow a fuel pressure gauge if it comes back on. At least then I`ll know what`s going on. Thanks again for the support.

Update. I updated my jr with the newest software & it hasn`t come on since. It still will lose power sometimes & now the light comes on that tells you the grid heater is on every so often. It will stay on for a few miles & go off. No codes, nothing.
