Pls need imm. help broke down

My friends truck is an 06 5.9 w/auto. He runs veggie when warm and diesel to get warm daily. was running rough yesterday so he changed both filters. His sys is separate diesel and veggie that meet before the inj pump. It will not start on either fuel. it was rough at idle yestarday and today, even after new filters, but ran fine at higher revs. he went a couple hundred miles, came to a stop on the road, at idle it was rough, then died. no restart. disconn. batt and drained sys with no reset or start. his engine light flashed 10 flashes, pause, 1 flash then steady light on. I can make no sense of the codes, I am a first gen guy. I searched. Pls help us out asap. he is on the side of the raod with his vacationing family.

If he cycles the key it will pop up with a code, no flashes or anything, just a straight code (Example: P0219)

Are the veggie and #2 systems COMPLETELY seperate, filters and all? If so and it won't run on #2, I'm afraid he may have gotten into some issues with the veggie that could have hoofed the injectors, water or something like that. Not good. I think that's a typical CR injector symptom - runs OK down the road but won't idle or restart after rail pressure goes down far enough at idle. There could be an electronic issue, but no telling without codes.

Maybe check the FCA?
Also check for any codes like steelblitzkrieg said....

Might be a problem running straight veggie oil with those touchy CR injectors...
How many miles are on the truck and how long has he been running straight veggie?

where will the code show? it will I guess show numerically someplace and be seen as Pxxxx? Ya gotta remember tghat what i know of codes is the check engine lite flashing morse code on my ole firsty.this gen 3 is way to elecmetronicamal. Thanks for the help though. i was telling him its an injection issue due to the crud he burns based on what i read. not a fan of using a truck outside of its intended setup.

The code will display where the odometer is, if he has any. If no codes it will say " done"

Cycle the key from the off position 3 times, on the third time leave it in the run position, you will see some lines in the odometer display. If you have codes it should read them out in the display numerically. If you do not have codes it will display "done" as previously stated.

Good luck, I wish I could have been more helpful.

No codes, on the odometer or scan tool. Possibly deleted wjth batt. disconnect. Truck still a no go, being towed to dealer. Looks like and injection issue possibly from using WVO. He said he filters wvo to 1 micron.I'll try to update when I hear what the dealer finds. May be a watchout for WVO users. Thanks for the replies.

Odd? I have. I've got the Battery/Ambient Temp irrationality code after using my Block Heater, I had it flashed which solved it.

No codes on my o6 odo either. Had a low fuel rail pressure code once that the scanner pulled but would not show on the odo. I heard some of the later 06's wouldn't perform that function.

Could be...Mine has a November 2005 Build date IIRC, I bought her in July 2006.

She sat a while.
