Doesn't seem to be a wieght issue,(the more the better), just a speed issue. Kinda embarrassing fot the first 500 miles tow, what with all those inferior trucks blowing by you.

I hooked mine up heavy at 1100 miles and haven't looked back since. Never thought once about keeping the speed below 50. She just keeps pulling stronger and stronger. Our work vehicles get loaded up right off the lot and put out into the field working hard. Never had a longevity problem yet. I just wouldn't be towing wot up hills for few thousand miles.

I work for a major truck manifacturer, and I talked to the ase cummins mech that comes in ,and he told me the best thing you could do is put a load behind it and drive it like you stole it. I also asked about a break in period ,but he said that it was not really an issue. Iknow thes truck we build don't get no break in and they are put on the dyno and run as hrd as they will go.

The break in period is not for the engine! It is for the drive line. Especially the differential. That thing needs to be heat hardened from use and if you do it too fast it could shorten the life of it.
