pitman arm rattling

I noticed the pitman arm has some play and the steering box shaft has play when I was under the front end. Would the steering box brace with a steady bearing fix this trouble? I heard Solid Steel Manufacturing in Weyburn makes these braces or front ends.
thx for any info

Sector shaft play in the gear boxes seems like a common problem, especially with bigger tires. It can cause slop in the steering. And if the sector shaft isn't too beat up, the gear box brace works. I caught mine early and put the brace on before it got too bad, cheaper than a new steering gear and mine is still rocking nice and tight. Plus the entire front end feels stiffer/tighter.

The pitman arm mount to sector shaft should not be rattling though, or else its loose = major danger. The pitman tie rod end could have some play? Maybe your sway bar end links are rattling?

If everything else is OK, their is an adjustment for excessive sector shaft play on top of the shaft. requires an Allen wrench and open end wrench to do.

The brace is also a great mod to do as well, but I think you still need to address the play issues.

no issue's with mine right now. just installing one to prolong the integrity of all components associated with adding the brace
