Passing... truck lost power!!!!

I happened to be passing another Dodge on the interstate yesterday, (to show off the cummins logo!), and the truck suddenly lost power and acted as though it was going to stop running. I safely and quickly let off of the throttle and pulled to the side. It was idling fine but I did have some Power Service fuel additive and put some in the tank. I thought it might be icing or waxing of the fuel. Temp. was approx. 28 F and speed approx. 70mph. This is the first time that I have had any performance issues in the 39,000 miles on my truck. BTW, I did drill a bunch of 5/16" holes in the airbox while I am waiting on my backordered Scotty Ram Air III. Any connection? Ideas? Thanks. Popeye

Change your fuel filter!!! Where you beyond 3200 rpm? It will start to take fuel away right around there before it hits the limiter.

MIne just did the same thing today and it happened to be a clogged air filter from the holes in the bottom of the box. I duct taped the holes shut and put in a new filter and now it's back to normal. I just posted the same thing in the "Perf section" under "Warning if you have drilled holes in your airbox"

Mine did about the same at about 9k miles, and changing the fuel filter fixed it. The filter was dark gray.

The fuel filter will turn dark gray as soon as diesel hits it. Mine is dark gray right now and it's almost new....
