Pac Break On 2003 48re
Is it possible to put a straight drive pac break on auto. I have the mystery switch and have had the transmission upgraded with shift kit and triple disk converter.

Pac on Auto
I have an inline 5" pac on my stock 48re and couldn't be happier with it.
I have the transmission module from Pac which works similar to the mystery switch but automatic. Not sure if the 2 would be compatible. Probably worth a call to pac directly. I found they were great at answering questions.

My research says there is a thrust washer in the trans that won't take it. The trans can be upgraded in that area but requires a rebuild. I hope/wish that I am wrong. Would love to run a Pac.

The question is if you turn the brake on with the switch and wire it through the mystery switch so when you lock up the tc. it would activate the brake. When you just want to lock up the TC when driving you would just turn off the pac brake. Would this be like the way it works on straight drive transmissions.

You probably want to divorce the lockup from the EB operation and either manually downshift or get the controller.
Locking the TC in OD will generally not allow a downshift and the EB is not very effective in OD. You could tie the EB into the lockup switch but you would have to drop OD first manually. The controls do all this for you but you replicate it with several manual steps.

Yes, there is an issue with a trust washer being worn out due to lack of fluid flow. The exhaust brake makes this issue worse and can cause a rebuild sooner.
