if i am mistaken, hopefully someone will fix it.


jacobs being factory installed/warrantied is thought of when the computer is set up. there is a way for the factory to enable the jake to lock up the computer via the powertrain module. has to do with coding.
the pac does not have access to such coding and must have a stand alone module to do the same thing.

glad I got a 6sp rig.

That's what I assumed, but I was told by people who installed the brake that no reflash was required. I can't seem to get a clear answer from anyone so I sent an email to PacBrake. If I don't get a response in the next day or two I'll give them a call.

Could be that it is "plug & play", and when installed the PCM recognizes it and activates the programming????

I haven't looked into that aspect much as I have a 6 speed

Yeah, that's a possibilty. I just want to find out for certain before dropping close to $2000 getting one of these installed.

do it yourself, only took 2.5 hours, very easy, directions are great, well made kit. the hardest parts are deciding where to mount the switch, and installing the front 2 bolts on the intake for mounting the compressor.

Do you have any pics? And is the switch the same as the Jacob's one?

i have a couple of pics of the turbo install in my gallery, they show the brake and where it is supposed to go. tomorrow after work I could go take a few more of just the brake installed, compressor, etc and post them. sorry, it is completely dark here now and nothing would turn out.
there are 2 switches. the one that comes with it is just a toggle with a little label plate. the other is an option for mounting on the shifter. i didnt use it and it is still sitting in the box in the garage. I dont turn mine off, so i didnt feel the need to install it.
