P2509 Code?
A little info. 04.5 Dually, auto tranny w/ 145,xxx on the clock. Was leaving my house for work and got halfway down the driveway when the truck just completely shut down, no power no where. Stopped and restarted truck, no CEL showing on the cluster.
Smarty says P2509, "Powerdown Data Lost Error". Anyone know anything about this?
Also, this has happened a few times. While driving, at random times I loose my throttle. You can hit the pedal but nothing happens. The truck doesn't die, you just can't accelerate. I have to pull over and shut her down then begin back on my way. I' m thinking that it is something w/ the throttle position sensor?

I had that error code recently when my batteries were weak and ready for replacement. The gauges were bouncing around and the transmission would not shift right. The motor also turned over slowly when starting.

I was thinking it was batts going bad also but the truck does crank over and pops off without hesitation. I did notice that when I first put the key in the ignition that the speedometer bounces to 60 then back to 0, do 04.5 do that? I know my 03 doesn't.
When ever the truck is shut down then restarted the radio always resets it's self. Then I noticed today that when I left for lunch and went to get back in my truck my key fob wouldn't unlock the doors, had to open it manually. I tried hitting the unlock button on the switch panel to let my buddy in and it wouldn't unlock for me. Maybe all these issues are tied together?
I 'm going to load test the batts tomorrow and see where they stand.

Hmmm. I wonder if only one of your batteries is going bad. I know each battery is responsible for different functions, but I can't tell you which is responsible for what. The speedometer on my truck doesn't bounce at all upon starting the motor.

Lots of oddities happen when the batteries start going bad. The speedometer and tach ping when the key is turned on. Getting the batteries checked is a good starting point - you're on the right track.
