Help!! Truck down. Getting 2149 code. Truck runs lime crap. I have checked group 2 injectors when this happens and have no voltage to them. Shut truck off and ohmed injectors, harnesses to find all check ok. I did replace 2 harnesses from valve cover to 3,4,5,6 injectors due to chaffing. This did not improve situation. Could this be an E C M problem? 2003 dodge 2500 5.9 cummins. 270,000 miles

Couple of weeks ago I've changed the valve cover gasket on my 2006 5.9L and the code went away together with P2146, which is for group one and two injectors. I have purchased a Dorman gasket on eBay, not happy with the product quality but it did the job for now, $110. The job itself is easy, one hour most. Check my posts, I'm still battling with a DTC P1755. Good luck.

Z man, thanks for the reply. my engine does not incorporate the wiring in the valve cover gasket. they are set up with plugs through the spacer. I have had both plug harnesses for group 2 replaced and this didn't correct the problem. When it loses power, there is no power to the injectors. This is why I am thinking I have an ECM problem.??

It may be the ECM, but I wouldn't jump to buy another one before you get it checked. Personally I don't think that's your problem but rather some bad wiring. Is just an opinion based on my own experience with this dtc. My ECM is perfectly good but I have encountered 2149 alone or in conjunction with 2146, 2059 I believe, quite few times since I bought the truck 7 years ago and it was the wiring/batteries on the truck. Do some more research.
