p1740 on my 05
I just got my Quad race box and air intake yesterday. I installed the intake kit but not the race box (time challenged).
This morning I went to get a fence post at Home depot and my check engine light stayed on.
It turned out to be a p1740 Tcc fault code. I only have 15k miles and tow 3000lbs approximately 70% of the time always in tow mode.
From what I have read,(yes, I searched the forums ) The torque converter sensor or selenoid is to blame.
Anybody else with a 3rd gen have this problem? And why?

The TCC and O/D clutch will be tested each time the PCM requests TCC engagement in 3rd gear and OD. The code will set if the expected RPM drop is not achieved while attempting to engage TCC or O/D. If the solenoid is working your trans most likely has a mechanical fault. If the fault is intermittant, which it usually is, I would at least check the solenoid to be sure it's working, plugged in etc.. I would then clear the code and hope for the best. If the dtc returns you would most likely be getting a new pump, convertor, input shaft sealing rings, and possibly an input shaft.

Cleared the code 2x today then made an appt with the dealer.
Code reappeared on startup both times
Checked all connections and no problems
Drove a grand total of 15 miles with code set so I'd figure dealers problem warrantied item 15k<36k miles "Fix IT!" and my door rubbers at the same time "Jes FIX IT!"
