P0514 Code haven't had it in a while.....now its back with a vengence
What the hay is this P0514 Battery Temp Code about????
Had it show up about a year or two ago. Last week the SES light came on and went away. Later in the week, it did it again.
Then today.....again.
Its been cold out, but nothing freezing (30's-40's in the AM).

I had the P0514 code show up on my '06 and took it to the dealer. There was a TSB with a computer flash that fixed it. Hasn't been back since I had the flash.

yeah, it's nothing.
some nerd with a pocket protector put the wrong temperature value in some computer table, and cold weather pops that code.
just roll by the dealer, and they will TSB it for ya.
any decent dealer would have had their tech do all the trucks they had on the lot when the TSB came out...most don't
don't sweat it...mine popped 3 times in first 5 days of ownership - was almost ready to trade it for a duramax till guys on here got me set skrait...

I had this code once early on after I bought my truck and it didn't show up again until 1.5 years later. Then it showed up 3 times during last winter and haven't seen it again since late last winter.
I don't even bother bringing it into the dealer to have it reset anymore. It goes away after a few days.
The funny thing is that it showed up after I started using a winter radiator blanket and I suspect that had something to do with it. The blanket alters the temp zones under the hood somewhat so I think it affected the battery temp sensor.
When I took off the blanket last spring it stopped happening.
Now the blanket's back on but not yet closed up in front. We'll see what happens after I close up the front when it gets really cold.

I just picked mine up from the dealership and they fixed this for me. According to my invoice, they did
REFLASH TSB 18-032-0 18190423 0.4 REFLASH CONTROLLER FOR FALSE DTC
We'll see if it fixes it. It only happened to me once. I had the truck in to fix another reason, and they fixed this code while it was in.

Well my 06 is doing this but I'm not sure I want to take it in. The TSB fixes multiple things, not just the battery temp rationale.
It is supposed to:
Get rid of the check engine light for 3 codes, 0514, 0111, and one more, can't recall. All related to battery temp or intake air temp.
Adjust your idle speed from 750 to 800 RPM to protect the clutch
Set limits on your engine speed in cold weather or until warm up to protect the turbo.
I want my check engine light to go off, but I don't want any of the other stuff touched.
Said a different way... I want them to fix what they messed up, but I like my engine the way it is.
Tough world sometimes.
