P0340 error code, would not start, cycled grid 3x, 50+ degrees F here

Hard a hard start this morning, cycled grid 3x... Code P0340 "camshaft position sensor circuit"...Anyone had this? Causes? Check engine light is out now but code remains. 39,000km on truck

The ECM uses the camshaft sensor to start and shifts to reading the crankshaft when running If I recall correctly. Thats my guess with your problem start. With all the heavy rain we had lately maybe some water got in the camshaft connection. It's a bugger to get to but unhook it and apply a little dielectric silicone grease and do the crankshaft sensor while you at it. Merry Christmas
