p-0628 sputtering and dies

i have a 03 3500 stock with 215,000 miles was having problems with fuel rail pressure put a clamp on to fix that now really sputtering could only get to 20 mph. coaxed it home and showing code p-0628. will replacing the lift pump fix both? can you install a fass system and leave everything else alone? tried the map sensor cleaned it then test drove ran great for a min. then barely got it back home. tried to bump start it and no noise from pump. where is the cheapest place to get a new pump? everything is stock high miles really no need for crazy mods what benifits do the fass sys. have? alot of questions not alot of money

0628 is the lift pump code. Talk to Glacier Diesel.

Did you install a relay? Can you hear the FASS running?

Either a bad relay, wired wrong or no ECM signal. I don't know how to check the ECM output, but maybe you could just check for voltage on the old lift pump hot wire when the key is on. Are you sure the relay is wired correctly? I hope your truck didn't stop originally because of an ECM problem instead of the lift pump.
