P 0299 fault code

This morning a check engine light came on when I started my truck. It ran OK so I drove it to get it checked out. It ran OK for a while and the check engine light was still there after several start cycles. The truck eventually lost power and acted as if the accellerator pedal was dead. I made one more stop and when I restarted, the code was gone and the truck ran OK. I had the truck scanned and code p0299, low boost was stored. Has anyone had a similar problem? I find it odd the truck " fixed" itself. The truck is a completely stock 06 with 48,000 miles.

Didn't find anything for a P0299, but the P0237 defines Turbocharger Boost Pressure Sensor Low

Either got a leak between the compressor and the intake manifold, a bad wastegate solenoid, or a bad MAP/AIT sensor.

I looked in my list and it said;

• P0299 Turbo/Supercharger Under Boost

So may be the waste gate is open when its not supposed to be. Check the linkage.

you need to get that K&N filter in the trash and get a wix 49946. get a 60 psi mechanical gauge and see what is happening. hold your finger on the solenoid and have some one turn the key on you should feel the solenoid kick. to check for leaks the best way is to get plumbing fittings and a regulator. remove the tube from turbo to air filter and connect the fitting and pressure to 30 psi it will instantly find the leak. if the gauge says the pressure is ok the K&N may have damaged the turbo seals and or coated the map sensor with oil. look at the turbine wheel to see see if the K&N has damaged it. you will see craters in the metal and even pieces of metal missing from the fins once this happens it causes enough unbalance to cause the seals to fail. clean the k&n filter and hold it up to the sun, now you can see why it has been dusting your engine

When I posted my truck info I intended to put a K&N filter on. I then heard negative things about them so I nevewr did put it on. My truck has a stock filter.
