With your mods don't worry about anything but the fuel pump. Drive it and use an additive.

Although it only has 60K miles, mine is proving itself as a big blue towing machine. Its been vastly superior to my previous vehicle, a 1999 4Runner.

Cracked alternator bracket.
Reverse light switch.
Taillight circuit boards.

I did the fuel tank vent mod where the vents get hoses and a filter so dirt doesn't get into the tank. It needs shocks and u-joints. I probably should check ball joints soon. I have the random 'Check Gauges' blink which is documented in a TSB, but I don't care to have it reflashed for fear of what else they might program into it.

X2...

The only thing I have HAD to do to my 04 truck (other than oil and filter changes and tires) was replace front brake pads at 120k. Everything else has been by choice and since it turned over 100k. Not a single glitch...

My '03 "Motor Trends Truck of the Year" is running like a champ. No major repairs, some mods.

Love my '03. Great mileage and now it's paid for. However, I have had a few repairs:

reverse switch
ball joints (upper/lower)
front left wheel bearing
front differential rebuild
lift pump
real pinion seal
water pump
front axle u-joints
drive-shaft replaced
all drive u-joints

I have a diesel smell from the engine now. Probably a leaking cp3 or fuel rail.

Overall I am still happy with the '03.

I love mine but I have had to replace the transfer case twice. Other than that just a cracked dash which Chrysler has agreed to repair.

I am hoping that it will last another 10 years.

No mods just bone stock.

Don't know what really happened with the second transfer case but the first had a small leak that only would leak when it got hot. Never had any oil on the ground but the underneath of the truck was covered.

Both of the them were replaced by Dodge without question. Now this third I keep a real eye on. I check the fluid about once a month or more.

I've had a few isseus with my '03, but nothing I consider major: HVAC mode door took a crap TWICE and I've had both front axle joints, 1 u-joint in the front drive shaft and 2 in the rear shaft and the driver's side upper ball joint. I've replaced ALL the u-joints with Federal-Mogual Premium GREASABLE joints and plan on throwing in a free-spin hub kit before the unti bearings konk-out. Other than that, it has more power than I really need, gets fuel mileage as good or better than some cars, and it runs every time I twist the key (knock on wood). Over all I'm quite happy with my '03.

The first at 50000, the second at 65000.

Like I said Dodge covered both. Right now I have 71000. Check it all the time now. Too worried that I will have to replace it again out of warranty. I am sure I could argue about it with them.

Did they try repairing the first one or did they replace the first one? They don't hold much fliud and even slight seepage can run one low on fliud. They have not been troublesome.

They completely replaced both ot them with a new or rebuilt, don't know which one. But it wasn't the original I know that for sure because I saw them laying on the ground when I went to pick the truck up.
