So basically when you goto change your tranny oil you should buy 6 quarts? Is that pretty safe to say? I'm about to have my clutch replaced. If I change my fluid now will I lose any fluid during the installation process? Should I just wait till after the install and then drain the fluid and add 6 quarts? I was going to go with Amsoil Synthetic Manual Syncromesh Transmission Fluid. Is that recommended on this forum? Thanks!

I use royal purple synchromax in my tranny and amsoil in my engine and think both are very good oils.

Yes Amsoil is what they sold me with my NV5600.

You might want to wait until you replace your clutch. To remove transmission you have to take the top cover off, and there will be a possibility to get some dirt inside. Unless you are overdue, I would wait.

98whitelightnin I have 5 quarts of Royal Purple for sale in the classifieds, if you are interested make me an offer.

Thanks guys. I think I'll wait until when I do the clutch. Just got word that I'll get my clutch on Tuesday but the Heavy Duty Hydro's are on back order. Sucks. I wanted to do this install on Friday.

I would do the clutch and wait for the hydro. It will take 1/2 hour or less to install, it's an easy job.
